At night, Victoria Harbour is one of the most spectacular skylines in the world. By day it’s a staggering feat of engineering and by night the buildings are alive, charged with neon, lasers and the lightshow, which happens every evening from 8pm. There are many ways to soak up the wonders of this vista; you can either enjoy it from one of the rooftop restaurants or bars in Central, or head over to Avenue of the Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui for a widescreen view. But without a doubt, the best way to truly appreciate this glittering ode to modern development is from the water of the harbour itself.
To do this, you can either hop on the Star Ferry or take a more leisurely cruise boat, the most traditional of which is the famous Aqua Luna, a red-sailed junk, which cruises across the harbour every 30 minutes.
