With a beautifully terraced waterfront, Stanley is the best place in Hong Kong for al fresco dining and drinking. The harbour front has a diverse selection of outlets, all of which tend to serve comfort food in laid-back surroundings.
During the Dragon Boat Festival in June, the village comes alive with people watching the annual races, but for the rest of the year, this is a quiet area to sit back and watch the world go by with a glass of chilled white wine.
Aberdeen is much more residential than Stanley without the same harbourfront atmosphere, but in the harbour, you’ll find Jumbo Floating Restaurant, a traditional four-storey boat housing restaurants, with beautiful terraces overlooking the water.
