Tai Long Wan is Hong Kong’s most spectacular beach and is a world away from the crowded, murky waters of the coastline on the Island. It is accessible by boat when winds are low and the water is not too choppy from Wong Shek Pier in Sai Kung Country Park. If the winds are high, you will need to get a sampan to take you across the cove from Wong Shek Pier to the Tai Long Wan trailhead. Here you will find a path that will take you all the way over the headland and down to the beach. It’s an easy walk that takes around 45 minutes. Best of all when you get to Tai Long Wan, you can enjoy fresh seafood in the village cafés, rent a boogie board and even camp overnight on the beach.
